End of semester engineering competition
The team designed and built a robot that moved ping pong balls over a wall as quickly as possible. We wanted to think outside the box and create a unique robot, so instead of a traditional scooping arm we made a telescoping forklift arm to increase our ball moving capability. Although we did not win the ball moving competition, we won the award for the best CAD model as it was deemed the most accurate and detailed SOLIDWORK Assembly of a robot in the competition (see next section: if the image is not displaying correctly you can try resizing your window).


Robot at Work
Here is an early test of the robot moving the balls over a wall. As seen in the video, this early test revealed problems with the telescoping arm, so we quickly redesigned our braces to ensure a smooth and secure movement.
